Do you ever feel like you need to take a break?! It’s good to spend time winding down, relaxing with a cocktail and reading a good back. This is exactly what I needed and recently took a 12 day trip to Mexico staying at the TRS Yucatan.
A little bit of sunshine at the end of November is always a good idea, it’s not too close to the Christmas festivities at home and it’s nice to soak up the vitamin D and just relax!
Relax is pretty much all we did – Completely guilt free at the TRS Yucatan in the Riviera Maya. About an hour south of Cancun this place is all about luxury. Last year, most of our trips where hustle and bustle city visits so it was nice to take our 2018 travel at a slower pace.
We stayed in a room within a wonderful villa, each villa has its own butler who will make your reservations for dinner, answer any queries and be a friendly face each morning. The villas are within a large complex which also consists of three Grand Palladium hotels which we were able to use (the GP guests can’t use the facilities of the adult-only TRS).
Every single meal we had was delicious! On an evening every restaurant within the TRS Yucatan is ala carte with the option of two buffets for breakfast and one for lunch. What we loved is even the buffets offered small plates (of course, you can keep going back) but one thing we tried to be careful was not over eating too much.
It was great through the day to spend time at one of the two pools or at the private area of the beach which was by the Grand Palladium Kantanah hotel. It’s easy to get around the whole complex using the carts with drivers who will drive you anywhere.
Another highlight is the spa! The Zentropia spa is available for all TRS Yucatan guests, it was nice to chill here for an hour or two. We also added a couples massage which was incredible and for someone who sits in front of the computer most days, well needed!
One of the things which made the TRS stand out was the level of customer service. Every single member of staff was friendly, helpful and really took it to the next level. We had some incredible cocktails and different drinks, my favourites were the Miami Vice which is a mix of a pina colada and strawberry daiquiri and we loved a mini beer which is a caramel liquor topped with baileys – I’d highly recommend!
It was a wonderful 12 days staying at the TRS Yucatan. It was great to relax, indulge and have a fun time!
