Trips That Will Transform Your Worldview

There are so many different ways to see the world (and so many different places to see, for that matter). That’s the very beauty of travelling. Perhaps you’ve always been the type of person to jet off on a 2-week holiday to Ibiza or some all-inclusive resort on the coast of Turkey. Such trips are relaxing and laid-back, but there are so many other ways to explore and see the world. Perhaps you’re searching for something this year that will fill you with a little more adventure and excitement. Perhaps you don’t want to relax on your holiday – perhaps you want an adrenaline-fuelled trip.

Of course, there are many different ways to go on an adventure too. If you’re searching for a trip that will change your worldview in some way then there are hundreds and thousands of different places you could visit. Perhaps you don’t have a single destination in mind, and that’s okay. You don’t have to visit one place; the best way to see the world is to explore as much of it as possible. That’s how you truly experience all the unbelievable places and cultures that are lying out there in wait for you. If you’re ready to go on a trip that will completely transform your worldview then here are a few suggestions.

Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The capital city of Northern Island is a stunning place to visit. You could even take one of these no fly cruises straight from Dover and turn your trip into a real experience so that you could see other cities and countries on your holiday. But let’s take things one destination at a time. When travelling to Belfast, you need a plan of action regarding all the things you want to see because it’s a city of real depth. There are so many potential things to do that it’s hard to know how you should begin. You should start by visiting the incredible Titanic Belfast museum. Not only is it an absolutely spectacular piece of architecture to admire from the outside but it also provides an insightful look into a tragic but crucial piece of history; it tells the story of everything from the construction of the Titanic in Belfast to its catastrophic end.

That’s not all Belfast has to offer, however. In terms of modern day culture, you might be more familiar with some of the areas surrounding the city than you currently realise. There’s a lot of natural beauty surrounding Belfast, and that’s exactly why the team behind Game of Thrones decided to film parts of their episodes in numerous locations around the city. Dark Hedges is one of the most popular filming locations. It’s a road that’s lined with hauntingly beautiful trees which hang menacingly above those who drive through. Of course, you’ll recognise the location if you’re a fan of the show, as you will with other locations such as the Giant’s Causeway and Cushendun Caves. It’s well worth the visit if you’re a fan of that show. But Belfast is a city with something to offer to any traveller, as has been made more than clear by this point.

New Zealand.

I’d suggest just one town or city, but there’s so much to explore in New Zealand that it’d be hard to limit your visit to just one place. Plus, it’s not an excessively large island. You could find an adventure travel company to help give you a tour of all the best sights. And that’s the best way to sum up a visit to New Zealand: it’s an adventure. Whilst New Zealand has a lot of modern culture, it holds tightly to the roots of the ancient Maori tribe. This culture and folklore spans a century and provides a fascinating story that explains the country you see before you today. You should definitely explore the grassy battlegrounds of Ruapekapeka; it’s strange that such stunning natural beauty was the scene for such brutal ancient battles. You should also find time to see the beautiful ancient settlements atop the volcanic North Island. This country truly is breathtaking, and there’s a lot to take in.

Sydney, Australia.

Australia is such an incredible country that you really shouldn’t limit your visit to just one city. If you’re travelling such a long way then you need to make the most of this opportunity. But if you’re looking for a place to begin then Sydney is certainly a fantastic destination to explore first. It might be the typical tourist spot, but there’s a reason for that. It’s a beautiful place, even if you’re a solo traveller. You should start off by visiting the iconic Sydney Opera House, of course. It’s not only beautiful in terms of its outward appearance but in terms of the incredible performances that take place inside; you should definitely experience a theatrical or musical show at the Opera House whilst you’re in the city. You should try out one of the day cruises whilst you’re in Sydney too; most of them will take you to see fascinating natural sights, such as nearby uninhabited islands. There’s so much natural and manmade beauty in Australia. Sydney is only the tip of the iceberg.

The Lake District, England.

There’s far more to England than the big cities. Even if you’re English, you might not have fully explored all the beautiful places that this country has to offer. The Lake District is one such place that you may have overlooked. It’s one of the most picturesque places in all of England. In fact, it might even be a viable contender for one of the world’s most picturesque places. Fantastic scenery stretches as far as the eye can see. Wonderful green pastures, thick woodlands, and lakes with crystal clear water. It’s like the setting of a fantasy story. You should go camping, and turn your experience at the Lake District into an explorer’s trip. Hike across the hills, and soak in the natural beauty for yourself.
